(April 24) -- A homeless man who was stabbed while saving a woman from a knife-wielding attacker lay dying in a pool of his own blood for more than an hour while several New Yorkers walked past without calling for help.

Surveillance video obtained by the New York Post shows that some passers-by paused to gawk at Hugo Alfredo Tale-Yax early Sunday morning and yet kept on walking.

One man came out of a nearby building and took a cellphone photo of the victim before leaving. Another leaned over and vigorously shook the dead man before walking away. But most people never stopped.

I saw that, made me think of all the times I helped people without thinking twice, once was a homeless man, lucky for me there were cops eating at a cafe nearby and heard me shouting, three homeless men were beating one poor old fella and trying to steal his shoes...

Another time, a woman fell down the subway stairs I dropped my bags beside me to stop her bleeding and someone walked off with them, after the woman was loaded into an ambluance I realized it!!!  I went back to the store and needing a dress for a business meeting, I told them what happened, they gave me another dress for nothing.... showed me two sides to the world that day... the ones that care and give and the ones that don't and take!!!
